Sonam Thukral, Hard News Editor
Sonam Thukral (she/her) is a Co-Editor of Hard News. Sonam is interested in journalism because she finds it empowering to write about untold stories and share the experiences of the interesting people she gets to meet. Being a journalist allows Sonam to write about topics important to her and share them with the public community. Sonam loves to read the New York Times and The Washington Post to inform herself about current events and important issues. In the future, Sonam aspires to pursue a career in a technical STEM-oriented field, such as computer or biomedical engineering. However, she continues to carry her passion for writing and the press into higher education. In her free time, Sonam enjoys reading leisurely, listening to music, and spending time with her friends. Sonam’s favorite book is the one she is currently reading, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, because it is written beautifully and thought-provoking about topics such as perception, our relationships with people, and the simple joys in life we take for granted.
