Shoilee Mandal (she/her) is the editor of Arts and Entertainment. She joined The Survey to bring light to stories within our school that often go unheard. Shoilee appreciates the connection that journalism creates among communities and hopes to continue learning more about the ins and outs of her surroundings. To Shoilee, journalism is a powerful tool for spreading awareness and highlighting stories beyond a surface level. Her go-to news sources are The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal. Shoilee plans to study neuroscience in the future and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field. In her free time, she loves to make art (her favorite medium is gouache!), sing, and wander around museums. One of Shoilee’s current favorite books is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. She is excited to keep writing and bring a greater sense of community within the arts at our school.
