Leah Badawi, Staff Writer
Leah Badawi (she/her) is a staff writer for Features. Leah reveres the importance of journalism because it is a medium in which knowledge and opinions are openly shared. Without journalism, she believes that individuals would be ignorant of current affairs outside their personal circumstances. To engage with the field, Leah is an avid reader for the New York Times and The Onion. Leah also enjoys writing an array of pieces about the current political climate of the United States, particularly focusing on issues happening around the globe that are often neglected by most mainstream news sources, and writing for the Horizons Literary and Art Magazine. In her future career, Leah hopes to major in Law or Medicine when she enters college– striving to become either an attorney or a psychiatrist. Last summer, she actually participated in the Harvard International Relations Scholars program to continue enriching her academic pursuits! This upcoming year in The Survey, Leah is excited to grow as a student journalist, receive feedback for her work, and explore a variety of highly-contentious topics.
