Ayaan Ali, Executive Editor
Ayaan Ali (he/him) is the Executive Editor of The Survey. He reveres the importance of journalism in fostering civic engagement, political socialization, and public discourse in a democratic society by giving everyday citizens a voice and platform to posit innovative ideas, solutions, and outlooks. Beyond the publication, Ayaan is also an opinions editor for The Iris News, an executive on Tech’s debate team, an intern for two political campaigns, and a film critic and journalist for The Movie Buff. As a Law and Society major, he intends to study political science and later law in college, developing the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute positively to the American legal system and address its systemic problems. Ayaan is deeply motivated to help elevate The Survey to new heights and cultivate a new team of staff writers and editors that will continue to push the boundaries of the paper. In his free time, Ayaan loves to read non-fiction on philosophy and history, watch movies, cycle, hang out with friends, and journal.
