Xindi Liu (she/her) is a Copy Editor. She believes that journalism is the most effective tool for individuals to learn about current events. Xindi appreciates different perspectives - something she believes is beneficial to society. To her, journalism is the bridge that connects the world, or in the case of The Survey, the students of Brooklyn Tech together. This is why Xindi follows the news closely, both through publications and television. At school, Xindi is the Vice President for the Chinese Language Study & Liberal Arts Association, a club which she co-founded. Xindi also participates in several other clubs, including the music honor society Tri-M. Outside of school, she works as a tutor and as the Human Resources Director at Beatastic: an organization formed by high-schoolers in the US that teaches online classes on arts and social studies. In her free time, Xindi also writes short stories with friends and posts them on social media. In the future, Xindi seeks to major in environmental engineering, a passion built on her life-long passion for nature, with the ultimate goal of finding a career that intertwines both her passion for journalism and environmental science.
