Hailey Nguyen (she/her) is a Staff Writer. Hailey joined The Survey because of her love for writing and passion for journalism. Although she is in the Biological Sciences major, she finds herself drawn to the comfort of a ballpoint pen and some paper. She sees The Survey as an opportunity to grow alongside other writers and showcase content that makes people love reading as much as she does. Publications such as The Survey and The New York Times have given her immense appreciation for those who are able to capture information and curate it for the public eye. After writing pieces on her own, she fell in love with the process of brainstorming, drafting, writing, and enhancing. She hopes to be in the medical field in the future, out of interest in biology. She would also like to publish a book and do a fun/informative TedTalk. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends. You may also find her indulging in various poetry books or on the golf course with her dad. Her favorite novel is currently "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" by Ocean Vuong because of its deep dive into Vietnamese culture and self-exploration, beautifully depicted as heartfelt and complex.
