Having joined The Survey her freshman year as a writer for the Arts and Entertainment section, Skye An ’17 is now the section’s editor. She aspires to actively keep Tech updated with all the culture, art, media, and contemporary lifestyle in NYC.
Outside of The Survey, Skye plays the cello in Tech’s orchestra. So far, she has thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially because she has the chance to work with musicians in the country’s largest and one of the most diverse high schools. Skye has also participated in the World Vision 30 Hour Famine, a community service event to help fight hunger and poverty within the U.S and around the world.
Skye, who is of Korean descent, was born in Queens but considers Brooklyn her home. She is also not the first in her family to attend Tech. Both her older brother and uncle are alumni.
Skye’s interests include creative writing, reading (open to all genres, but she is particularly interested in sci-fi, fantasy, suspense/thriller, comic/graphic novel, and non-fiction memoirs), history, and some mortuary science.
