Martha’s Country Bakery is a sweet heaven as spring makes its long awaited arrival for New Yorkers. Located on Austin Street in Forest Hills, Queens, Martha’s Country Bakery is the sweet spot of the neighborhood amidst several other cozy stores like Barnes and Nobles, Starbucks, The Gap, Bath and Body Works, and countless cafes. These stores make the neighborhood amiable, and Martha’s Country Bakery just adds to its charm.
The bakery itself looks beautiful from the outside. Appetizing cakes with intricate designs in the display window peak the curiosity of many bystanders who can’t help but go inside to see if such pretty creations taste as good as they look. Inside, the first thing you notice is how crowded it is. The room is quite large, but it is narrow, which makes the two lines near the exit seem even more clustered. Fear not, however, as the baked goods are worth the wait.
With the help of friendly and attentive workers, you are presented with a variety of options to order – ice cream, cupcakes, cakes, and macaroons. There’s also a place toward the back dedicated to warm or cold beverages to complement these sweet treats.
The bakery has a cozy atmosphere. The walls that surround you have chalkboards with the menu written on them alongside funny and light-hearted quotes about eating baked goods.
Anyone interested in having a relaxing time with friends and family while enjoying sweet treats, should check out the bakery’s website.
