On behalf of the American Cancer Society and cancer survivors everywhere, I would like to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to the Brooklyn Technical High School Relay For Life Committee and the BTHS community for an outstanding inaugural Relay For Life.
The effort that these dedicated and selfless young adults displayed in organizing the first annual Relay For Life of Brooklyn Technical High School was nothing short of extraordinary. The character and drive of this group manifested itself in meticulous meeting agendas, complex logistic plans, late night OoVoo and Facebook meetings, gift wrapping at Kings Plaza Mall and, of course, a remarkable cumulating Relay event.
However powerful the effort from the RFL Committee, what made this event such a massive success was the support from the greater BTHS community; students, faculty, staff, school safety officers, alumni, the alumni council, and countless others all played key roles. There are too many key players who contributed to the effort to list in sum, but please know that the Relay would not have been possible without the leadership of Principal Asher and the guidance of Mr. Kaelin.
Again, a big THANK YOU to the Relay For Life Committee for establishing a strong foundation of Relay For Life in Brooklyn Technical High School. We can’t wait to Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back even bigger next year!
